Among many other things this confinement has taught us to look inwards and to live our spaces as never before in a multifunctional way. Houses will start to be conceived for your emotions, not only for your comfort.

Now more than in the past we know better what we need, what we want and what we value most in a space.

Advantages of houses for your emotions

During confinement we are all looking at the advantages and disadvantages of our own homes and many are already wondering if they really live in the place they want, if their home needs improvement… more than ever we are reflecting on the kind of life we used to lead and whether it is far from the one we want.

The immediacy to which we were subjected until we were forced to stop and confine ourselves left no room to give us the time and space to think and even dare to design a different scenario. We have lived thinking that we had time to postpone our true purposes and longings, and we have come up against a stark reality making us more aware of our own vulnerability.

Changes in houses after confinement

Many things are changing, such as teleworking, which we believe is here to stay and which will provide us with many advantages and a certain freedom of location, as we will be able to shape our lifestyle much better.

One positive aspect of this confinement is that it is probably pushing us to live a much more meaningful life.

All of us in the world of design and architecture have a great challenge going forward to rethink our homes.

The home we believe in is one that brings us wellbeing and health, while being respectful of the environment. That is the house we will all want post COVID19.
